Vanilla Cupcake Smoothie
This vegan vanilla cupcake smoothie is the BEST mid-afternoon snack. The extra protein you get from the powder means you’ll be full for longer and it can also be a great breakfast option if you want to make something to go.
Vanilla has to be one of my favourite flavours - sweet, warm, comforting and pairs so nicely with bananas, oats and milk.
I get asked a lot about the best vegan protein powder and what I’d recommend. Really, it all depends on what you want to use it for (dietary requirements, goals and price point). I use MyVegan protein powders, and for this particular vanilla cupcake smoothie, their vanilla flavour. I have a discount code for 35% off use this code at checkout: MADELEINE with this link:
WHAT BLENDER SHOULD I USE?
For a blender that’s great value for money you can’t go wrong with a Nutribullet. I have the 900W one and it is such a good option. I’ve had mine for years and it’s really stood the test of time blending everything for all of my meals and recipe videos all these years!
I more recently got a Vitamix that I absolutely adore. It’s definitely a more expensive option - but they are professional grade and can blitz almost anything. Totally worth it if you have the budget and are a foodie.
Ingredients
1 banana
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 scoop MyVegan vanilla protein powder
20-25g (1/4 cup) oats
125ml (1/2 cup) sweetened soy milk
Handful of ice
METHOD
Gather your ingredients.
Add all of your ingredients and blend.
Enjoy your vanilla cupcake smoothie with a reusable straw!
NOTES
For a different flavour to vanilla, try a completely different protein powder and leave out the vanilla extract! Some of my favourites are MyVegan carrot cake, chocolate or chocolate salted caramel. Don’t forget I have a discount code for 35% off with the code MADELEINE.
If you’re not a huge fan of banana, a great substitute is silken tofu for this recipe. Or you could leave it out altogether and simply add a bit more oats!
