Easy Vegan 3 Course Meals for Valentine’s Day (+ printable menus)

Valentine’s Day for me, is all about reminding yourself to show your loved ones that you care. Life can be busy, and it’s easy to forgot the little things or take for granted the people in your life that you cherish. I’ve always been someone who prefers staying at home and avoiding the inevitable V Day crowds So I’m proposing that you join me in staying in and cooking yourself or your loved one a slap up vegan 3 course meal for Valentine’s.

I’ve got 15 easy vegan recipes for you to choose from and I’ve included multiple options depending on what you fancy (Italian, Mexican, American, Asian-fusion and British). If you want to be a little extra I’ve even created a printable menu for each cuisine choice.

Vegan Italian Menu

I know when you think of Italian food you think of meat and cheese filled dishes but there are actually so many amazing plant based options. You might be surprised to find out that many of the traditional recipes that hail from Italy are naturally vegetarian or even vegan. This menu takes my easy Pitta Pizzas as the perfect starter, followed by this amazingly creamy Mushroom Risotto. Finally for dessert I’ve chosen a recipe made with one of my favourite accidentally vegan products, my Nutella Cheesecake.

Serve with: A bottle of Gavi or Prosecco. For the non drinkers use up any old or dried up citrus fruit to make the traditional Italian fruit soda, Chinotto.

To finish: Freshly brewed coffee & vegan biscotti

vegan Mexican Menu

I LOVE Mexican food so I was really happy to create this menu. For starters we have one of my favourite all time meals, Loaded Vegan Nachos. For the main event we’ve got Vegan Quesadillas, a relatively new recipe of mine, but perfect for those who like tearing and sharing. Lastly we’ve got these amazing Chocolate Chip Cookies. Honestly it’s incredible!

Serve with: Homemade lemonade or for those wanting something stronger, Margaritas obviously! Citrus drinks are perfect to compliment the spices found in most Mexican recipes.

To finish: For real chocolate fiends, a chill chocolate hot choc. Use my 3 Ingredient Hot Chocolate recipe and sprinkle some chilli powder on top.

DESSERT: chocolate chip cookies

vegan BRITISH menu

Now this is a cosy option for those wanted to get the romance going with some classics made for winter dining. Start with my comforting Creamy Broccoli Soup and serve with a slice of crusty bread to mop up the soup. I’d recommend my crusty seeded bloomer pictured below in my Plant Kitchen Comforts Digital Ebook or you can use my Loaded Bread Rolls. For the main course we’ve got my take on a very British fish pie, Fishless Quorn Pie and for pudding one of my winter favourites, One Tray Apple Crumble.

Serve with: An English sparkling white for ultimate romance. My favourite local wines are obviously going to be from Cornwall (Polgoon or Camel Valley are delicious). For alcohol free, keep it simple and pair with a sparkling water (I’d recommend Sodastream for those wanting to make tasty soft drinks without the plastic consumption).

To finish: A cuppa tea and a biscuit. Try my version of the British classic Jaffa Cakes.

vegan AMERICAN menu

For those that would normally pick an American style diner for your Valentine’s meal out then this menu is for you. I would recommend pairing the Ultimate Vegan Burger with my amazing Homemade Chips

Serve with: Milkshakes! Try my Peanut Butter Milkshake recipe. For those who can’t muster the hunger for a vegan milkshake and a burger or want to up the romance level, pair with your favourite wine from the states.

To finish: If you still have room in your tum for more I salute you! End this American feast with a freshly brewed coffee.

STARTER: TOFU CHICKEN NUGGETS

DESSERT: decadent chocolate mousse

ASIAN-fusion CUISINE

Serve with: To really enjoy the flavours pair with fresh icy lemon water. But if you want to enjoy with wine, I’d recommend one with high acidity such as Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Gris. Or for the proper British experience, drink with a lager.

To finish: End with a cup of jasmine or ginger tea.

STARTER: veg noodle soup
